As the Internet constantly grows in poularity and digital sales become more prevalent, companies are now focusing their sales at an online market. There is now a mind boggling array of companies for any product or service imaginable, and online revenue continues to grow year upon year. But how do you pick your way through the minefield, and most of all where can you find the best deals? For me, the best three options you have are:
High Street Retailers – whether you’re looking for personalised gifts or just general bits and pieces, the online version of the high street jewellers is worth a look. Instead of only being able to view what one or two shops near you have in stock, online shops tend to have a much wider variety of products from local, national and even international chains. This in turn means you have access to a wealth of bargains, and whilst they might cost to post you’re bound to get a bargain with the amount you save.
Auction sites – as we all know, Ebay is the big player here. The best thing about Ebay is many people don’t kow the value of what they’re selling, so it’s great for bargains and especially brand names. Some of the highest volume jewellery sellers are big brands such as Links of London, which people buy for 18th birthday gifts and that kind of thing. However, because of the huge amount of them on sale, you can pick them up for drastically less than you would have to pay in a shop.
It’s definitely still worth looking at other auction sites, you never know you might find hidden treasures others missed!
Classifieds – classified sites such as CraigsList and Gumtree are the final little treasure. There are oftern obscure local versions of these sites that few people visit, increasing the chance of finding a bargain. This is going completely the other way from Ebay, and is a great source of quality jewellery. You do have to be careful though, as sizes are often different from what is advertised, and you don’t want to end up getting the wrong size gifts for her!
